The Reagan and Bush administrations were ideologically hostile to antitrust and the Clinton administration--being politically weak and eager for 'business' support--is rapidly compiling a pro-monopoly (non-enforcement) record which rivals that of the McKinley administration (1897-1901). Economics has been hijacked by politics, at a vast cost to the public.

AMERICA'S ONLY ANTI-MONOPOLY JOURNAL

The objective of this Web site is to, first, help visitors understand what antitrust is about. Since all of the world's roughly 200 countries have monopoly problems--and since those monopolies inflict very high costs (as emphasized below)--the ideal visitors here would be the chief executives of those 200 nations, their advisers, the members of their legislatures, their leading journalists, and the faculties and students at their universities--economists, historians, political scientists, and lawyers--who are concerned with enlarging their nation's wealth and with the quality of its economic justice.

Our further hope, of course, is that this new insight into antitrust will lead our visitors to become not just regular readers of this journal but potential contributors to it, giving us and our readers around the world a keener appreciation of the nature and extent of the monopoly costs in each of their 200 economies. To this end, we offer first an introductory overview and then present a dozen or so articles from our past pages that introduce and explain the basic concepts involved.
